Reputation Guide
Your reputation is one of the most important systems in NSFW Academy. Every public choice you make shapes how other students, professors, and organizations perceive your character — and a good or bad reputation can unlock entirely different stories, relationships, and challenges.

Understanding Reputation
Reputation represents what the academy believes about your character — not necessarily the truth. The system tracks two different things:
Overall Reputation
Your general public image across the academy.
Reputation Categories
Specific traits that people associate with you.
Categories include:
- Academic
- Athletic
- Social
- Wealth
- Elite
- Courage
- Cowardice
- Sexual
- Hard to Get
- Easy to Get
- Manipulation
- Wit
These categories are independent from one another. For example, your character might be:
- Highly respected academically while being socially unpopular.
- Wealthy but considered manipulative.
- Sexually notorious while still admired for courage.
Different NPCs care about different reputations, so two people may react to the same character in completely different ways.
Reputation Standings
Each reputation category is displayed using a descriptive title.
| Value | Standing |
|---|---|
| -5.00 or lower | Infamous |
| -2.00 to -4.99 | Bad |
| Below 0.00 | Damaged |
| 0.00 | Neutral |
| 0.01 – 0.99 | Noticed |
| 1.00 – 2.99 | Known |
| 3.00 – 4.99 | Recognized |
| 5.00 – 9.99 | Prominent |
| 10.00 or higher | Famous |
Major scandals may also generate active rumors. Even after your reputation value improves, students may continue talking about what happened until those rumors naturally fade or are dealt with.
How Reputation Changes
Your reputation changes through your actions. Common sources include:
Generally, public actions have a much greater impact than private ones, since witnesses can spread gossip throughout the academy.
How NPCs Use Reputation
NPCs don’t simply check whether your reputation is “good” or “bad.” Instead, each character reacts according to their own personality and interests. For example:
- Compassionate students may defend you or give you the benefit of the doubt.
- Flirty characters may become bolder if your Sexual or Easy to Get reputation rises.
- Bullies and manipulators may see a damaged social reputation as an opportunity to exploit you.
- A strong Courage, Elite, Social, or Hard to Get reputation may earn additional respect — or even intimidation.
Not every negative reputation is a disadvantage. Some infamous reputations unlock exclusive encounters, dialogue, opportunities, and story paths that respectable characters may never experience.
Every reputation comes with both advantages and consequences.
Recovering From Infamy
If your character becomes Infamous, recovery takes time. Success comes from changing how the academy sees you — not simply waiting.
Stop Making Things Worse
Avoid creating new scandals while recovering. Good choices include:
- Attending classes
- Participating in normal school activities
- Choosing lower-risk public actions
- Avoiding humiliating bets
- Skipping reckless party decisions
- Staying rested and maintaining your appearance
This won’t immediately repair your reputation, but it prevents further damage.
Respond to Rumors
Eventually other students may confront you about ongoing rumors. How you respond matters. You can often choose to:
- Deny the accusation
- Laugh it off
- Own your actions
Each response influences different NPCs in different ways. Choose the response that best fits the image you’re trying to build.
Create Better Headlines
The academy remembers what people see. Look for opportunities to publicly demonstrate positive qualities. Examples include:
- Excelling academically
- Winning athletic competitions
- Helping other students
- Standing up to intimidation
- Building your social reputation
- Participating in prestigious House activities
The stronger the contrast between your new behavior and the old rumor, the faster public opinion can shift.
Visit Dart
Need emergency damage control? Dart offers a professional reputation cleanup service.
Benefits:
- Repairs social reputation.
- Helps bury one active social scandal.
- Works much faster than natural recovery.
However: it’s expensive, has a cooldown, and should be considered an emergency tool — not something to rely on regularly.
Use WishPlug PR Items
WishPlug sells public relations items such as Anon PR Nudge. These items do not erase bad reputations. Instead, they temporarily make the rumor mill more favorable, giving you time to rebuild your image through better decisions.
Think of them as protection — not a miracle cure.
Common Recovery Mistakes
Avoid these if you’re trying to repair your reputation:
- Repeating the same scandal.
- Ignoring every rumor encounter.
- Constantly choosing humiliating public options.
- Combining a bad Social reputation with Cowardice.
- Expecting one good deed to erase a major public failure.
Recovery is a process. The academy watches patterns — not isolated moments.
Quick Recovery Checklist
If you’re trying to rebuild your reputation:
- Check the Reputation section of your Character Sheet.
- Identify your weakest reputation category.
- Avoid actions that damage that category further.
- Build positive reputations through school, social, athletic, or House activities.
- Respond to rumors instead of ignoring them.
- Use Dart’s cleanup service if immediate recovery is necessary.
- Use Anon PR Nudge to reduce rumor pressure.
- Give the academy time to notice your improved behavior.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are NPCs still talking about my scandal even though my reputation improved?
Some major scandals generate active rumors. Your numerical reputation can recover before those rumors fully disappear.
Can I instantly erase an infamous reputation?
Usually not. Dart can significantly speed up recovery, but lasting improvement still depends on your choices afterward.
Is a high Sexual reputation always bad?
No. Different NPCs react differently. Some may find it attractive, others may judge you for it, while opportunistic characters might use it against you.
Should I always try to become respectable again?
Not at all. You can embrace notoriety if it fits your playstyle. An infamous character may unlock unique events, dialogue, and opportunities — but should also expect greater risks and harsher consequences.
Where can I see my reputation?
Open your Character Sheet and navigate to the Reputation section. You’ll find every reputation category, its current value, and its corresponding standing.
